This feature makes it possible to start surveillance with a signal on an external port. At the moment only the gameport is supported. There could be for instance a protected switch to start or stop the surveillance. You can control one or more cameras by one common external switch. Please use search maschines on the Internet to find pages that describe the game port more detailed.

Caution: Use this feature at your own risk. Work at computer hardware should only be done by experts.

To test your configuration you can use your joystick.

See the picture below for an example circuit for the gameport (socket on the computer) allowing too external switches.

R1 and R2 are necessary for Windows to detect a connected device and so that SupervisionCam can read data from the interface. S1 (corresponding Button 1 of the Joystick) and S2 (corresponding Button 2 of the Joystick) can be any switches or relay contacts, that can be configured for certain actions in SupervisionCam. Check your switching under "Control Panel", "Gameport". If there is no device configured, please add a  "2-Axis, 2-Button-Joystick" first..

External Switches

Save images with external device:

This section of configuration allows to save a picture immediately by the use of an external trigger. This is independ from a motion detection.

Save images when an external signal has been detected: Check this box if you want to enable a selected port as a trigger to save images. Images will be saved in intervals as selected in the save image configuration page.

Port: select the port you want to use as an external trigger

Pin: select the pin which delivers a signal

Inverse signal: check this box if you want to use an inverse signal and not the standard that is excpected on that pin(s).

External switch to activate or deactivate the current configuration:

This section makes it possible to start the current configuration with an external trigger. The configuration is active as long as the signal is high (or low) and inactive when there is no signal.

Use external port to activate the configuration: check this box if you want to start/stop the current configuration with an external trigger

Port: select the port you want to use as an external trigger

Pin: select the pin which delivers a signal

Inverse signal: check this box if you want to use an inverse signal and not the standard that is excpected on that pin(s).
